If Sophie Charlotte, the first queen in Prussia, was the adored grandmother of the flute-playing Frederick II,then Wilhelmine of Bayreuth was the great Prussian king's favourite sister. At the side of Margrave Frederick of Bavaria she transformed the Bayreuth residence into a musical court, which can only be understood as a complete work of art with its architectural ensembles, its fine art and musical environment. Thus music is presented from Wilhelmine's own opera composition "Argenore" and from works by court musicians such as Johann A. Hasse, Adam Falkenhagen, Niccolo Porpora and Johann B. Kehl.
